"Why do I include WXXI in my will? Because they are food for my brain, heart and soul. I grew up in a household where classical music played regularly and when I came to RIT as a freshman in the late seventies, the first thing I did upon unpacking my radio in the dorm room, was to find a classical station, was introduced to Simon Pontin, and I have been a devoted listener, ever since, especially around the holidays and in my car, when I need to chill (e.g., Hearts of Space, Echoes, the Spanish Hour, Classical Guitar alive) or otherwise stimulate my mind (Sat. Morning Folk music on WRUR; Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. WXXI TV, etc.). The quality programming, news, and contributions to the community (e.g., saving The Little) are a unique crown of jewels worth preserving and supporting. Thank you to all at WXXI, like you, who make it happen. Keep up the good work providing the many invaluable gifts to our community."
